Tuesday 29th July, 2008

Phew! We've actually had the air con on this last week, so that's unusual for the UK LoL! Can't complain though, as we didn't get a summer last year.

I've been working on lots of different 'berries' this week, so you'll be able to see what comes to fruition soon! Excuse the pun ;o) Couldn't resist!

As always, here's the link to what mini's are up for grabs for anyone at all to buy:-

Mini Fun For One And ALL! Thanks if you click to take a peep! Here's a sneak preview of one of the items:

They're not real shells, as I'm often asked! I create each one; and make some to look like they're open, showing the details in the 'fleshy bits' - each one being painted individually! So a great little masterpiece, even if I do say so myself! Yes, I know we're not supposed to buy them for real if they're open, but it looks better when in miniature don't you think?

Well, that's it for now; and I'll pop by again soon!

Friday 18th July, 2008

My miniature offerings for this week include a gorgeous cheese board, so I do hope you'll click on the link for a better look! And thanks if you do. There are three filled loose crackers too . . . these things make you so hungry! Even if they aren't real LoL!

Anyhow, here's the link:- Miniature Creations for this week!

Have a great weekend everyone! Bye!

Tuesday 15th July, 2008

How's everyone enjoying the warm weather? Bit sticky LoL! But at least it's not stopped me working ;o)

Today's been taken up mainly by my creating a whole salmon - not my usual, but one that has detail the whole of the way around the fish, so a bit tricky; and I know a certain person will be really pleased when they know it's around 75% completed, as it's a commission.

I'll post some images when it's completed too, so you can all see the detail.

Have a great evening! We're having mozzarella and black olive tortellini with pasta sauce for dinner, so I'm looking forward to eating . . . bye!

Friday 11th July, 2008

Had quite a week! I've really enjoyed my productivity and here's a link to what's on offer this week:- Miniature Fun For Everyone!

I've also been working on my commissions; and there'll be a couple more off of my ever growing list to dispatch next week. I just want to thank everyone for their patience ;o)

This is my favourite mini up for grabs amongst the ones on offer in the above link - hope you like it too! Parisienne Macaroons! Thanks if you click and take a peep. Have a great weekend everyone; and I'll catch up with you Monday probably now, bye!

Monday 7th July, 2008

How was your weekend? Hope you all had a wonderfully relaxing time if you had the chance to take time to chill . . .

A visit to the tramway museum at Crich was the order of the day for Saturday; a planned treat for Mum and Dad's Anniversary. There was an Edwardian themed weekend; so that was cool!

The costumes were fabulous; as were the trams and charabancs etc., I had to look in amazement at the solid tyres on the 'charas' and knew that it must be a bit of a bumpy ride - real bone-shaking stuff I would guess!

Ah well, I know you want to read about mini's . . . and today has been rather productiuve for me, so the weekend break has done me some good LoL!

You'll see on Thursday what I have to tempt you all with; and I'll post a link as always ;o)

Bye for today . . .

P.S. Although this is an 'older image' it's a little tease as to what I've been up to ;o)

Wednesday 2nd July, 2008

It's seven twenty in the evening as I write; and it's so quiet and still . . . wonderful! I'm really close to outdoors where the pc is situated if you're wondering - no - don't have a laptop to sit in the garden with! I wouldn't want one anyway, they're too restricting . . .

What have I been up to today? I created a lovely little wooden trug to sell this week to some lucky person! Not telling what's going in it though! If only I could keep some of the miniature creations <big sigh> It's really hard to part with some of them, but I have bills to pay just like everyone else. I've done some new cookies too, they're new in the stores, so I guess not everyone will have seen the real thing either, nor could I resist eating a few, so delicious . . .

That's the worst thing about making mini food - it makes you hungry for real!

Anyhow, if I don't catch up with you tomorrow, as it's my 'photo session' and sales night ha ha! I'll be back on Friday ;o)

Tuesday 1st July, 2008

Is it warm enough for you? Tad hot here in the UK for a change ;o) Although it feels like the Westerlies thrashing the trees may bring a storm . . .

Anyhow, you'll be pleased to know I've downloaded the manual to add 'buy-it-now buttons' to this website - although I haven't looked at it (not had the chance) so I don't know how complicated, or if my brain is up to it LoL! Hopefully it should be straight forward she says eyes rolling.

Well, that's my news for today; and I now need to go back to work . . .

Catch you tomorrow!

Monday 30th June, 2008

Did you all enjoy your weekend? We had a special family 'Golden Wedding Anniversary' party Saturday; and it was great to catch up with everyone; and relax and just enjoy time out.

Back to the mini's today though; and this week's challenge is to try and complete more of my commissions, thereby shortening the queue (line).

What am I working on? Another little creation of Tudor Marchpane, but a whole one this time that I hope will go down a treat; and on a more modern note, chocolate panini - which were delicious I might add LoL!

Wenesday 25th June, 2008

I seem to be a bit busy at present! So sorry for not being able to drop by yesterday . . . today I have been creating miniature crusty breads and such-like . . . yep I know, you want to know what the 'such like' is ha ha! Well, you'll just have to wait and see ;o)

I know we all keep moaning about the new Fimo, but I was a bit frustrated with it today, with it being warmer weather, or I guess that's why it seems more difficult to use, I have to say it was like trying to sculpt chewing gum, how frustrating is that! I'll havae to leave it out and see if it dries out somewhat. I'll let you know.

That's all my 'news' for today . . . bye!

Monday 23rd June, 2008

What a beautiful day! Shame to be stuck inside sat in front of the pc . . . no seriously - I'll try  to come and let you know what I'm up to each day - even if it's not about miniatures. Yes, I know you want to know about miniatures more than anything else, so, today I've been planning some 1930s mini goodies; and maybe move towards some Wartime minis too. They're such interesting eras to work with in miiniature! If you want to contact me:  email Carol  and I have skype too, which is simply 'carol_cook' if you would like to chat online with regards to any enquiries etc.

I ought to go and carry on, thanks for popping by! Catch you tomorrow ;o)

Wednesday, 18th June 2008

Well, today its wet and windy, how depressing for midsummer! I've just had seared tuna for my evening meal with pasta; and here I am chatting to all LoL!

Miniatures - I'm into my next commission; and still 'playing' with my Italian style mini's too. Had quite a productive day. The new Fimo still frustrates me a little, as it's so much more 'softer' to work with, but I guess I'll have to get used to it. The powers that be make these changes; and small fry like me have to just grin and bear it worst luck! It has such a different consistency, so today I mixed it with some of my 'old'clay which is firmer; and it seems to have worked - trouble is - what happens when I run out of the old style Fimo?

Ah well, Strawberries and cream are shouting me to indulge and enjoy . . . ;o)

Tuesday, 17th June 2008

What have I been up to today? Well, miniatures-wise, another commissioned piece is finished . . . hooooray . . . I hear you patient people shouting LoL! Then some 'Italian' inspired pieces, which I LOVE to create, probably because Italian food is one of my favourites in real life. Fresh pasta is to die for, even if not good for the waistline!

Weather - still gorgeous, although somewhat cooler; and we seem to have a rival gang of Goldfinch; and for such tiny birds they are really fiesty, they've made me dizzy today! They're bringing all their chicks too - so cute.

Til tomorrow . . .

Monday, 16th June 2008

Did you all have a great weekend? I spent some 'quality time' with my parents, as it was Fathers Day yesterday, so that was nice. We have a family birthday this evening too - so plenty of socialising this week LoL! Being a miniature artisan means you're virtually a recluse during the week . . . Just me and the dawg . . .

Today I've been putting finishing touches to a fruit display that I've been working on for around four weeks on and off, so it'll be nice to see it completed!

Weather wise - it's absolutely gorgeous this evening in Yorkshire after raining ALL day.

Anyhow, catch you all tomorrow - birthday boy calls . . .

Friday, 13th 2008

I hadn't noticed it was Friday the 13th . . . aaarrrgghhhh . . . you see if we didn't know - we'd carry on without being cautious I'm sure.

It's a tad chilly here in Yorkshire today - what happened to flaming June I wonder LoL! I hope it doesn't turn into the awful time a lot of poor people endured at the end of June last year - with all the flooding. Even now some are still affected and not back to normal around here. Spare a thought ;o)

Nothing planned for this weekend; and it's hard to believe it's midsummer! This year has just flown by! It makes you think of the White Rabbit in 'Alice'. We're all guilty of dashing around too much; and really we should all slow down a little and (what's that old chestnut?) 'smell the coffee' a grand smell too. Bread in the oven smells nicer in my opinion though . . . there I go again, food! Making myself hungry now.

Oh well, bye for now and have a great weekend if you're off anywhere nice!

Thursday, 12 June 2008

Good Evening!

I've just prepared my listings for this evening - just a few little 'old favourites' that we all love so much; to get us all back in the mood and swing of things! But, next week there'll be some more of my special OOAK work, so don't forget to pop by again and take a look from Thursdays, as I have some gorgeous minis to auction! I may even give a sneak preview here next week . . .

My commissioned pieces are still being juggled around, but coming along nicely; and some lucky Collectors will be hearing from me next week! I love to send the final images for approval. Total job satisfaction! I'm really lucky to have such a loyal following; and I thank you all VERY much.

Well, that's it for today, and I'll be back tomorrow!

Wednesday. 11th June 2008

Our little bumper crop of tomatoes is comely along nicely; and my 'small' Olive tree looks as though it's going to have a bumper crop too! I was wondering if the birds will eat them . . . ? Hopefully not!

Yes, I know this should be a blog; and I do have the facility to set one up, but I'm going to wait a little while ;o)

It's seven in the evening as I write; and once again it's gorgeous weather, so I've just had a good few hours of gardening! Then I'll go back out when I've updated here. Makes a nice little break - or should that be back-breaking LoL! No, not heavy work, just kidding - a little tidying up and watering everything. Just popping by to take refreshment ;o)

'Til the morrow then . . .

Tuesday, 10th June 2008

Well, to say I've been really frustrated with my website saga today would be an understatement! I lost the one I did before I went on holiday - couldn't re-launch my preferred one, so the web that's been online for the passed few hours was AWFUL to say the least - so, fingers crossed - this may work! It's now approaching eleven pm . . .

Catch you tomorrow . . .
